Job summary

I am enormously proud to have joined Manchester Royal Infirmary as the Interim Director of Nursing. I am now looking to build my senior nursing team and as such I am excited to recruit to this post, to join me and my existing team.I am looking for an exceptional, inspirational, dynamic and highly experienced senior nurse whose role is key to support us consistently meet and exceed regulatory and statutory requirements, embedding robust clinical governance and fostering a culture where quality and safety are central.You will have an in-depth expert knowledge in quality improvement, clinical/and or system transformation and assurance. You will be required to negotiate, problem solve, think strategically and be able to build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

A crucial part of your role will be leading assurance and compliance for Manchester Royal Infirmary Clinical Group. You will ensure our services consistently meet and exceed regulatory and statutory requirements, embedding robust clinical governance and fostering a culture where quality and safety are central.

You will also support education, lead Trust-wide projects, and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver on programme objectives. If you are ready to bring expertise and vision to a team that values excellence, innovation, and compassionate care, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional and strategic leadership across a multi-professional workforce.
  • Lead on quality, compliance, safety, and patient experience, embedding governance and assurance at all levels.
  • Work collaboratively with senior medical, operational, and corporate colleagues.
  • Act as a key decision-maker and trusted deputy to the Manchester Royal Infirmary Director of Nursing.
  • Champion innovation, research, workforce development, and digital transformation.

  • Current NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Educated to Degree / Master's level or equivalent training and experience.
