Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for providing administrative services to the multi-disciplinary team, assisting the Medical Secretaries, Nurse Specialists and liaising closely with the clinical teams to ensure that all patients under the care of Cardiology Structural Heart Service progress through the pathway in a timely manner ensuring all investigations, appointments and supporting information is available. You will work both independently and in support of the Structural Heart Disease clinical team to collect and provide information required by the clinical team to agree a patient's treatment plan. You will take responsibility for your own workload but will escalate issues to the Pathway Navigator/Specialist Nurse team/Directorate team as and when appropriate. You will work within local and national guidelines e.g. national waiting times, national peer review, network agreed referral protocols and internal escalation policy.
