Job summary

Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT) is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic team player for a 12-month Post-CCT Vascular Interventional Radiology Fellowship. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of 13 consultant vascular radiologists within a vibrant, multidisciplinary vascular interventional service, with excellent opportunities to develop sub-specialty interests.

The MFT Vascular Interventional Radiology (VIR) team delivers a comprehensive range of procedures supporting vascular surgery, major trauma, hepatobiliary surgery, hepatology, urology, paediatric intervention, renal and pancreatic transplantation, plastic surgery, cardiology, and cardiothoracic services--including ECMO and heart/lung transplantation. The service includes a consultant-of-the-day model based at the MRI site, established IR clinics, and a nurse-led radiology pre-operative service.

MFT's vascular service is currently undergoing significant expansion, unifying vascular services across Greater Manchester into a single, integrated network serving a population of 2.8 million--offering a unique and exciting environment for advanced training and service innovation.

Main duties of the job

The appointee will work alongside the 13 existing Consultant Vascular Interventional Radiologists, providing angiography lists, support for hybrid vascular operating, participation in MDTs, vascular reporting, the VIR consultant-of-the-day role, IR clinics, and participation in the cross-city VIR on-call rota.
