Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen onWard 85 to join our team in the position of a part-time Ward Clerk. The post holder will provide a comprehensive administration service and ensuring our patients and their relatives experience a coordinated and streamlined patient journey.
This is a busy role and we are therefore looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure and the desire and enthusiasm to assist us in providing a first-class service. The ideal candidate will also have excellent IT skills.
The working pattern for this post will be 22.5 hours per week, Monday -Wednesday.
As a valued employee of the Trust, you will be provided with a comprehensive induction, participate in discussing your development needs through your annual appraisal and will agree a personal development plan.
You will also be given the opportunity to attend training courses to expand your existing skills.
Main duties of the job
Book in, via the appropriate tracking system, all notes received onto the ward.
Take responsibility for the maintenance of the patients record folders whilst they remain on the ward, arranging renewal if required.
File all documents, once signed by the Doctor, Nurse or other health professional.
Request any missing notes from the records office.
Ensure that the patient notes and other reports are complete and ready for ward rounds.
Check that all documentation is complete when the patient is ready for discharge, before allowing the notes to leave the ward .
When instructed to release notes from the ward, log records out via the appropriate tracking system.
