Consultant in General Pediatrician with Diabetes Interest

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a challenging and varied post at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. This is a full time substantive 10 Programmed Activities (PA) post based within the general paediatric and diabetes department. Applicants for this post must have extensive experience in general Paediatrics and Paediatric Diabetes. Applicants must be on the GMC's Specialist Register for Paediatrics or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview.

Main duties of the job

The appointee will be contracted for an average of 3 programmed clinic activities per week in general paediatrics and diabetes and will contribute to general paediatrics second-on weeks, winter second on weekends and resident shifts. There will also be requirement to contribute to the diabetes hot weeks and on calls. The exact format of this will be agreed with the appointee at commencement of the post.

  • MBChB or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification - MRCPCH or equivalent
  • Completion of general professional training (paediatric medicine)
  • Completion of higher specialist training in paediatric medicine with relevant experience/qualifications in managing paediatric diabetes. Must be on the specialist register or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT or equivalent at the time of interview.
