A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Support Manager to join the North West Genomic Laboratory Hub (NW-GLH)- Liverpool site. The NW GLH is a highly regarded, UKAS accredited, NHS clinical service provider of Genomics to a population of 7.2 million people in the North west of England, as well as a wide range of national and international specialist referrals.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Genetic Technologist wishing to further their genomics career. We are looking for individuals with an enthusiastic and flexible attitude who can lead and manage technical quality systems supporting the Deputy Quality Manager and Head of Technical Programme.The successful candidate will be expected to be, or is eligible for registration with the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) Voluntary Register via the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS). The successful candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge of diagnostic genetic testing, good communication and organisational skills, and work to deadlines.
Main duties of the job
To lead and manage technical quality systems on the NWGLH Liverpool site.
To oversee and maintain the department ordering and inventory managements systems.
To lead and manage the NWGLH Liverpool site estates including space management.
To lead on departmental Fire Safety.
To support the oversight of departmental Health & Safety.
To support recruitment of technical staff.
Work as part of a team, maintaining good lines of communication and promoting a strong commitment to the department.
