Interstitial Lung Disease Specialist Nurse

Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated nurse to join our specialist Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) team for a period of 18 months This is an exciting opportunity in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with complex respiratory conditions. The successful candidate will play an active part in pathway redesign

As a Band 7 ILD Specialist Nurse, you will provide clinical leadership and expert nursing knowledge to the multi-disciplinary team, supporting the delivery of care across the ILD patient pathway. You will work autonomously and as part of a team, running nurse-led clinics, supporting consultant-led clinics, and maintaining our busy telephone advice service. The role includes teaching commitments to patients, carers, and colleagues, and active participation in service development and audit.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting optimal care for patients with Interstitial Lung Disease including Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis following clinical guidelines (British Thoracic Society, NICE, NHS England Quality Standards).

The postholder will work autonomously managing complete episodes of care including the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients referred to the Interstitial Lung Disease service. They will support the ILD service across MFT to progress local and national service improvement.
