Job summary

We're seeking a skilled Advanced or Enhanced GI/GU Radiographer who holds a Post Graduate GI or GU qualification to join our team at MFT. In this role, you'll independently perform complex GI/GU procedures, including Fluoroscopy and CT Colonography, while providing clinical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to service development. You will collaborate on the introduction of new techniques, ensure high-quality patient care, and support the wider multidisciplinary team. Main duties of the job

The post holder will serve as an Advanced or Enhanced Practitioner within the GI/GU specialty, managing a varied caseload of patients undergoing Fluoroscopy and CT Colonography examinations. They will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures on patients with complex GI/GU conditions and ensuring accurate diagnoses. The role also includes supervising, supporting, and mentoring students and trainee GI/GU Radiographers, fostering their professional development. In the absence of the Divisional Modality Lead (DML) GI/GU Radiographer, the post holder will provide leadership and contribute to multidisciplinary education and training.

Further postgraduate study may be required, depending on current qualifications, to ensure the post holder is fully prepared for the responsibilities of this specialized role and can offer optimal support to the team.

Key responsibilities include performing GI/GU exams across MFT sites, working autonomously to interpret complex procedures, contributing to best practice standards, and supporting the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will manage their workload efficiently, ensure high standards of patient care, prioritize examinations, and refer patients as needed. They will also engage in continuous professional development, support the training of staff, and maintain knowledge of current imaging advancements. Compliance with professional standards and involvement in service development are essential aspects of the role.

  • BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or DCR (R)
  • PG Cert and/or PG Dip in either GI/CTC, GU or Gynae fluoroscopy studies, including the production of Radiological Reports for these examinations.
  • Working towards a PG Cert in GI, GU fluoroscopy advanced medical imaging

Desirable

  • Experience performing CT Colonography examinations.
  • NCTCA - Module A or equivalent.

Experience
