The NIHR Greater Manchester Commercial Research Delivery Centre hosted by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is designed to drive positive change for our communities through patient-centred delivery of commercial research by:
1. Increasing relevant commercial research being delivered across Greater Manchester;
2. Improve accessibility to research opportunities across our vibrant communities;

MFT offers an exciting opportunity to appoint a Clinical Trials Manager (initial fixed term for 2 years) working in partnership with WWL.
This role will be based at the Community Clinical Research Hub, located in Ashton-in-Makerfield, to strengthen and grow the commercial clinical trials portfolio, building new partnerships across primary and secondary care in Wigan and bring more commercial research and the newest treatments to this community.
The Clinical Trials Manager will be a member of both the MFT GM-CRDC clinical trials delivery team and the WWL Research Management Team, reporting to the Head of Research at WWL on a day-to-day basis, and employed/managed by MFT.
As the CTM, you would share our passion and commitment to increase access to research and its associated benefits to Wigan residents.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities are to manage the further development of partnerships across health and care providers to deliver growth and performance in the commercial research portfolio alongside the Senior Research Nurse Managers (SRNs), acting as the professional lead for efficient commercial trials delivery, and achieving national Key Performance Indicators. The CTM will supervise a small number of clinical trials administrative staff and contribute to their professional development and training.
