Job summary

This is a unique opportunity to work in the Urgent and Emergency Care division.

The receptionist is an integral part of the team for our SDEC services . We are looking for someone who is proficient, organised, has good time keeping with excellent people and communication skills . They are required to provide a comprehensive service to patients and perform to a high standard the clerical duties.

Communicating regularly with patients, nursing and clinical staff, you will facilitate the attendance of patients onto the unit, updating the Hive system , answering phone calls in a professional and timely manner.

To operate within clearly defined limits of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines within the department and when necessary improve good working practice. Successful applicants will be part of a rota which involves shifts on weekdays and weekends between the hours of 0800 and 2000.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for candidates who have excellent communication skills and are eager to join the administration team of Urgent and Emergency Care.

The position is a busy customer/administration service-based role where no two days can be the same. You will need to work flexibly and apply a methodical approach to a varying workload. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

You will work alongside the Consultants, Doctors and nurses to ensure our patients receive the best care possible, we are looking for candidates who will bring a positive approach to our working environment.

Successful candidates must have excellent IT skills and experience working in a customer service or healthcare environment as you will be expected to use IT and communication equipment associated with call handling and data input. You should demonstrate high levels of personal commitment to facilitate the delivery of a patient focused service.
