Job summary

We're looking for a compassionate and caring Nursing Assistant with a passion to be a key part of the patient care journey at the Lance Burn Centre in Salford providing integrated sexual health (ISH) care, here at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT).

Our Nursing Assistants take great pride in the essential work we do at our hub site the Lance Burn Centre and across Salford at a number of community based clinics.

Main duties of the job

Being supervised by Registered Nurses & within Trust guidelines & protocols, you'll assist the Nursing team in delivering the excellent standard of patient care.

Your duties will involve providing sexual health screening including venepuncture, chaperoning a variety of clinics including long acting reversible contraception, as well as supporting the specialist nursing team in providing ISH care

Following on the job training and assessment, you'll learn how to undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties.

Essential

  • Completed the National Care Certificate if relevant
  • Holds a level 3 Vocational Qualification (e.g. NVQ or Apprenticeship) in clinical health care OR Able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skill and competency to undertake band 3 clinical skills (described in JD).
  • Holds Functional Skills Level 1 Maths and English or education equivalent
  • Worked at a band 2 Nursing Assistant or equivalent

Desirable

  • Previous experience with wound care

  • Experience working in a healthcare, social care organisation/setting or service industry requiring people contact.

  • Previous Outpatient experience
