Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Pharmacist to join the rheumatology and gastroenterologyteam at MFT, based at North Manchester General Hospital. You will deliver a high-quality, patient focused, clinical pharmacy service to inpatient and outpatient rheumatology and gastroenterology service users.
The pharmacy team at NMGH is deeply integrated within the multidisciplinary team, offering a wealth of expert clinical skills and numerous opportunities through pharmacist-led clinics. This integration ensures a comprehensive and collaborative approach to patient care. In addition to inpatient gastroenterology wards, the service includes outpatient clinic provision and homecare services to facilitate timely access to advanced therapies.
Prior experience in rheumatology and gastroenterology is not essential - we encourage you to apply if you have a passion for these specialties , and have previous experience working in a similar specialist clinical area.
Main duties of the job
To deliver a high quality patient focused clinical pharmacy service for rheumatology andgastroenterology and to establish effective relationships with clinical staffand other stakeholders delivering inpatient and outpatient care to our service users.
To promote the responsible, safe , clinically-effective and cost-effective use of medicines within the rheumatology and gastroenterology specialties.
To support education and development of medical, nursing and pharmacy staff in your role as Highly Specialist Pharmacist.
You will further develop your leadership and management capabilities within the Pharmacy department and, as a senior member of the Pharmacy Team, will be expected to deputise for the 8b Lead Pharmacist as necessary.
In addition to demonstrating enthusiasm for these specialties, you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to both collaborate effectively within a team and manage your individual workload. The ability to lead and motivate others, influence multidisciplinary teams, and engage with key stakeholders is essential.
