Job summary

With one of the most varied roles with the hospital, you be on hand to help support the Estates team solve and react to issues across the site, making sure that visitors, workers, and patients all receive the same great experience

The role is a supporting one for both management and workforce. It includes allocating work orders to operatives, arranging visits from contractors, ensuring contract visits have been fulfilled, maintaining service records, ownership of a staffing planner and scheduling training for operatives.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to have or gain an understanding of Ulysses, Concerto, Hive, PPMs and reactive maintenance scheduling and prioritisation.

Part of the post involves analysing the Estates CAFM system to identify system or staffing issues which prevent work order KPIs from being achieved and highlighting these to the Senior Estates Manager.

There is a need for excellent communication skills, customer care skills sound judgment skills as some of the building/ engineering services have a clinical need.

This pressure on the department requires tact, diplomacy and persuasion when communicating/dealing with department requests. This may be due to the workforce dealing with higher priority work such as emergencies or incidents.

The post holder must take full ownership of their duties and tasks and use their initiative to manage their time accordingly in order to achieve outputs of the role. The role requires a self-starter who has an understanding of Engineering and can use their initiative to efficiently undertake the role. From the outset the postholder shall understand how their personal contributions in the role affects Estates services and supports Trust activities/patient care

Essential

  • Educated to NVQ Level 3 /BTEC a relevant course: information technology, data management, engineering or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Relevant College/Higher Education to at least NVQ level 5 /Foundation degree
  • Professional registration with relevant institute engineering, management, financial /procurement, etc

Knowledge and Experience

  • Usage of a CAFM system (Concerto/MICAD/Planet
  • Demonstrable work experience and responsibility for updating and analysing information using databases and producing reports on activity in a quality management systems environment
  • Knowledge of Risk and electronic data management systems (Ulysses/Hive or similar)
  • Experience of working in an EFM department using, AutoCAD drawings, H&S files, Operation & Maintenance Manuals, Building Management Systems, Estates Servicedesk, HR, financial and procurement systems
