We have an exciting opportunity to join the Emergency Department Administration Team at North Manchester General Hospital as a Receptionist. An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to join the Administration Team at the hospital.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, good team player, organised, flexible and can maintain attention to detail. Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment , be adaptable and willing to take on various duties . As the ED department is open 24 hours this role gives you the opportunity to work a variable shift pattern including overnight.

Main duties of the job

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General reception duties - booking in patients upon arrival in the department
  • General telephone call/queries both internal and external
  • General clerical duties - sorting, filing, photocopying, scanning
  • Dealing promptly with routine enquiries from staff and patients both on the telephone and in person
  • Booking Patient Transport when required for patients
  • Booking in arrivals of ambulances within the department
  • Use of hospital computer systems/programmes, such as Hive, Adastra, One Response
  • Follow Departmental or Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs)
  • Take part in departmental audits as and when required
  • Complying with the Data Protection Act in relation to confidential data

  • Education to GCSE standard or equivalent including English and Maths
  • Computer literacy/evidence of IT training

  • Customer service/ care qualification
  • ECDL or other IT qualification
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent knowledge

  • At least two years' experience of recent administrative duties
