Staff Nurse - Children's Radiology

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Registered Children's Nurse to join our dedicated team within Children's Radiology at MFT.

This is a cross-site role working within the Radiology Departments at both Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH) & Wythenshawe Hospital on a rotational basis. The Radiology Nursing team work mainly with children undergoing anaesthesia or sedation for imaging investigations such as magnetic resonance (MR) scans.

Main duties of the job

We are committed to excellent development and progression opportunities which include supporting staff to gain the knowledge and skills required to care for patients during their journey in Radiology including:

  • Admission and pre-scan preparation
  • Safe administration and monitoring of patients receiving sedation
  • Post-scan recovery & discharge following general anaesthesia or sedation

The Children's Radiology Nurses work in a multi-disciplinary team alongside Operating Department Practitioners, Radiographers, Consultant Anaesthetists, & administrative staff.

  • First level registration - Registered Nurse (Children). Current full Registration with NMC (UK)
  • Degree or diploma in Nursing
