Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow in Knee Surgery at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, based at Manchester Royal Infirmary. Elective operating takes place at the purpose-built Manchester Orthopaedic Centre at Trafford Hospital, with trauma undertaken within the Major Trauma Centre at Manchester Royal Infirmary. There will be two posts available for a period of 6 months; one commencing in February 2026 and one commencing in August 2026. The post-holder will join a dynamic and innovative knee team with active research and clinical interests.
The post-holder should be able to demonstrate a subspecialty interest and experience in knee surgery. Applicants should have full GMC registration, completed the FRCS (Tr&Orth) or equivalent and ideally have CCT or CESR in trauma and orthopaedics.
There will be ample research and publication opportunities, with active involvement in the trials that are running within the knee service
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be given exposure to a wide variety of elective and trauma surgery patients and will have the opportunity to undertake independent clinics and operating lists where appropriate competencies are met.
