Job summary

The Head of Performance Delivery will support the Director and Deputy Director of Performance and Operations and the Clinical Group Senior Leadership Team to lead on matters relating to the operational performance delivery and oversight of the clinical and support services. Working to the Clinical Group Director of Performance and Operations, they will advise on all performance matters to drive through the delivery of ambitious plans to continually improve performance within the Clinical Group. As a key member of the Clinical Group leadership team, they lead the delivery oversight framework and performance delivery against plan for all services within the Clinical Group.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring effective systems, processes and performance management arrangements are in place to deliver high standards of performance and quality of patient services. This includes supporting managers to ensure there are effective day to day operational performance systems in place at all levels of the Clinical Group. The post holder will provide strong visible leadership within the Clinical Group in support of the Director of Performance & Operations, driving service improvement and transformation across the hospital, promoting a culture of values-led compassionate leadership.

Main duties of the job

Performance and Delivery Oversight

Acting as the Clinical Group lead for the implementation and continuous development of the Delivery Oversight Framework, working to ensure effective delivery oversight systems and controls are in place at all levels of the Clinical Group enabling risk to be assessed.

Responsible for monitoring performance of all services within the clinical group against the agreed business plan and NHS constitutional standards.

Take responsibility for ensuring the delivery of routine performance reporting, oversight and governance for the Clinical Group SLT and Trust Executive team as required, working with the central performance team to streamline efforts and reduce duplication of reporting.

Ensure predictive and proactive performance management is in place, using data to anticipate and to escalate both opportunities and problems in service delivery.

Drive delivery of operational standards in service delivery within the agreed resources, particularly existing and any new national frameworks and approaches, in line with the agreed annual business plan and under the direction of the Director of Operations and Performance.

Contribute to the annual business planning process, ensuring realistic and achievable plans are developed to support the Clinical Group strategy.
