Job summary
  The post holder will continue to provide established inpatient care for older people as well as worktowards the development of new and innovative geriatric services. They will be encouraged tocontribute their own vision for service improvement and how best they can work with the trust to helpdeliver this
  Main duties of the job
  1. To deliver high quality patient care in acute inpatient, outpatient and community settings as part ofthe wider multi-disciplinary Older Peoples Team, you will have dedicated in-patient ward responsibility(typically ~ 10-15 patients).2. Support the service and Divisional Leads on the implementation and development3. Provide advice and leadership to the clinical team in relation to patient care, education and wellbeing.4. Act on concerns/complaints reported by service users relating to medical care. Responsible withDirectorate manager, Clinical Director and Complaints team to ensure timely appropriate response.5. Act in an advisory capacity regarding care delivery in situations requiring medical input.6. As a senior doctor within the Trust, participate in the development of medical services,contributing to the development of strategy documents and policies and procedures as required.7. Support the Clinical Lead on the medical elements in the operational planning and evaluation ofclinical team's performance. If performance does not match the nationally or Trust standards, will beresponsible to monitor and implement different ways of working.8. Promote equality and diversity and ensure that there is compliance with relevant statutorydocuments.9. Support the Clinical Lead to develop and implement efficiency savings within the service. Explorenew ways of working in relation to variable demand.10. To undertake acute medicine on-call duties on a minimum of a 1:10 basis.
