Job summary
Manchester University Foundation Trust (MFT) is delighted to invite applicants for a fixed term (12 months) Infection Consultant position to work with the Infection teams based at the Infectious Disease Managed Single Service (ID MSS).
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic colleague who will work well within the infection teams and offer flexibility around delivery of Infection services across the MFT footprint. Consultants with a CCT or CESR in Infectious Diseases (with Microbiology/Virology/GIM) are invited to apply, as are those who are due to CCT/CESR within 6 months of applying for these posts.
  Main duties of the job
The ID MSS is comprised of the Specialised Regional Infectious Diseases Centre (SRIDC) based at North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) and Wythenshawe Hospital and is managed via the Division of Medicine at North Manchester General Hospital, MFT.
The IDMSS formed in August 2023 as a result of a merger between the ID services at NMGH and Wythenshawe Hospital, creating one of the largest ID services in the UK. The aim of one single service is to provide high quality, standardised infection care aligned with national standards, while ensuring equity of care across the city of Manchester and increasing access to research for patients and staff.
These consultant positions offer the exciting opportunity for colleagues to work with the Infectious Diseases team across the MFT sites, with the majority of work delivered at Wythenshawe and NMGH, providing the opportunity for involvement in a wide range of clinical infection services, as well as the potential for the development of specialist areas of interest and research
