Facilities Finance Business Partner

Job summary

The post-holder will provide high quality financial information support and advice to the allocated Estates and Facilities functions, thereby assisting the Managers to achieve their financial objectives.

In performance of these duties, to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of a suite of financial information that enables the allocated Facilities functions, and the Trust, to provide an efficient and effective service within the resources available.

Main duties of the job

Budgetary Control and Financial Advice

To act as the Financial Management Accountant with the objective of ensuring that the Facilities function achieves financial balance in accordance with the Trust's corporate financial objectives.

To formulate, agree and set realistic and deliverable activity (where applicable), income and expenditure budgets for the Facilities functions in consultation with the Facilities functions' Management Teams and Directorate Management Teams, in accordance with Trust policies and strategies.

To provide active support to ensure that all Facilities functions' savings targets are underpinned with substantive, recurrent and deliverable solutions, reporting progress against such targets, whilst proactively seeking solutions for forthcoming saving targets.

To promote and lead financial awareness amongst staff across the Facilities functions' and provide training as appropriate. To ensure that awareness of the Trust's Standing Orders, Standing Financial Instructions and financial procedures is promoted and to ensure the Finance team and Facilities functions' business processes enable these to be adhered to. To work with the Trust's Internal Audit function to ensure that any recommendations relating to the efficiency and probity of control functions are implemented.

To negotiate with other organisations over any financial aspects of service delivery.
