Job summary
We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Locum Consultant Paediatric Plastic Surgeon with an interest in paediatric major trauma at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (Royal Manchester Children's Hospital). This role is ideal for someone with a keen interest in paediatric plastic surgery, trauma, and microsurgery. You will be joining a dynamic team within a major teaching hospital and Foundation Trust, strengthening our Paediatric Plastic Surgery service.

Main duties of the job
This is a full-time position (10 programmed activities / PAs per week) including regular theatre and clinic sessions, time for administration and supporting programmed activities (SPA), on-call duties, and time for education, training, and research. Your clinical activities will be based at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, with some scope for adult/transitional practice at Wythenshawe Hospital if desirable. You will support the development of services within Paediatric Major Trauma, which may include hand microsurgery, replantation, nerve surgery and burns. This job includes general elective paediatric plastic surgery, trauma, and emergency lists, with opportunities for service development and clinical leadership.

- Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons examination in Plastic Surgery - FRCS(Plast) - or recognised international equivalent
- ATLS
- Fellowship training (or undergoing fellowship training) in paediatric plastic surgery
- Experience in managing (preferably paediatric) patients with Major Trauma
Desirable
- Entry on to the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery or progression towards Specialist Registration or CESR
