Main duties of the job
The General Manager is responsible to the Clinical Director for the delivery of all patient services within the Cardiac Surgery. The General Manager role in the triumvirate involves ensuring that all operational performance targets, including waiting lists, finance, the quality of services to patients and improving services towards best practice standards within available income are achieved.The Post Holder will be a member of the triumvirate with the Lead Nurse and Clinical Lead, with directionfrom the Clinical Director and advice and support from the Clinical Group Directors to achieveMFT / Clinical Group objectives and will be expected to make a positive contribution to the provision of health services across the Group and the local health and social care economy.

The general Manager is a key support the Clinical Director in the management of all services across the departmentensuring the development and maintenance of the highest standards.In conjunction with the Clinical Director, the General Manager will ensure that the Clinical Service(s) is able to meetits performance standards.You will provide support to the Clinical Director in the resolution of any urgent issues within the service(s) and establish systems to implement the MFT/Clinical Group strategies for assessing service users' views on the quality of services provided and for involving patients,relatives and their representatives in the planning and development of services.In conjunction with the Clinical Director, the Clinical Group Directors and other General Manager, agree Local Plans relating to capacity and efficiency and be responsible for implementation of changes agreed in negotiations, delivering agreed activity levels to enhance performance.The General Manager will lead on the service transformation plans in conjunction with MFT/Clinical Group/other Clinical Service colleagues including the identification, development and delivery of appropriate service improvements and play a key role in engaging staff in the development and implementation of servicereconfiguration programmes.
