Lead Physiotherapist - Central Manchester Community Stroke Team

Job summary

Manchester Local Care Organization is recruiting a motivated and dynamic Lead Physiotherapist to work within the Central MLCO, Community Stroke Team

The service provides rehabilitation for adults following a stroke and also input throughout a stroke survivors life as required. Assessment and intervention take place in a variety of settings including patient's home, residential or nursing homes and community clinics and therefore the candidates are required to have the ability to travel across the city to fulfil the role. The successful candidate will provide leadership for highly skilled physiotherapists within a multidisciplinary team of professionals. They will be competent to manage a caseload of complex cases and be able to develop and support the physiotherapy service and wider team.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills in service delivery, change and staff development. They will be passionate in delivering high quality services and have experience of working as part of larger integrated health and social care system.

Main duties of the job

  • To act as Lead Physiotherapist for the community stroke team, managing the physiotherapy caseload.
  • Supporting team members to deliver on their objectives through offering advice, guidance and support as appropriate with the focus being on delivering a high quality and efficient stroke rehabilitation service to patients of all complexity in a variety of settings.
  • Act autonomously to manage own caseload with a varying degree of complexity and to lead relevant service developments alongside the service lead.
  • To supervise and support staff including junior physiotherapists, rehab assistants and students through supervision sessions, peer support and appraisal.
  • Contribute to the development of an annual service plan and workforce management.
