CURE Navigator - Tobacco Dependency Team

Job summary

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join The CURE (Tobacco Dependency)Navigator team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our friendly team to provide an efficient administrative service to a fantastic multi-disciplinary team. You must have good attention to detail together with the ability to prioritise your own work to meet deadlines. And you will have good interpersonal skills liaising with medical and nursing staff as well as other colleagues across the Heart and Lung Division.

You will play an essential role within the team, helping to maintain and when necessary, improve good working practices.

You will be willing to adapt to change and learn new skills, having a good knowledge of general office procedures, together with organisational and communications skills, delivering high quality administration services and customer care.

Main duties of the job

Duties and Responsibilities

- Sorting of incoming mail both electronic and paper form.

- Processing of letters and materials ensuring Trust and departmental deadlines are met.

- Processing of HIVE referrals for CURE team / inpatients and smoking cessation lists.

- Maintaining patient outcomes of Specialist Nurse led clinics across the service and updating on HIVE

- Facilitating own patient follow up clinics.

- Attend wards to demonstrate nicotine replacement products to patients where necessary.

- Arranging new and follow up appointments.

- The post-holder would be expected to commit to on-the-job learning, where necessary, i.e. IT systems.

- Communicate and liaise with other tobacco dependency services and GP's regarding ongoing treatment plan. .

- Dealing with telephone enquiries, promptly and communicating accordingly thereafter.

- Monitoring and maintaining work queues on HIVE.

- Maintaining and ordering of stationery and office supplies.

- Undertaking routine clerical duties and any other tasks relevant to the role as requested as and when required.

- Follow departmental Standard Operation Procedures (SOP's).

- Follow the Trust's OP DNA policy, considering any departmental guidelines

- Assisting with the induction and training of new staff to the department.

- Complying with the Data Protection Act and Caldicott guidelines in relation to confidential data.
