Job summary
Applications are invited for one post of Senior Foot & Ankle Fellow at the Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation trust. The post will be based at Wythenshawe Hospital. Elective operating takes place at the purpose-built Manchester orthopaedic Centre at Trafford Hospital and Wythenshawe hospital. The post is available for a period of 6 months with potential to extend to 12 months, The post-holder will join a dynamic and innovative Foot & Ankle team with active research and clinical interests. The post will involve wide exposure in arthroscopic and open Foot & Ankle surgery, including trauma.
Main duties of the job
The fellow will have the opportunity to work alongside several full-time consultant Foot & Ankle surgeons and specialist podiatrists across MFT
The unit undertakes all aspects of foot and ankle work, including arthroplasty, arthroscopy, fine wire frames and complex reconstructive surgery, as well as sports medicine, diabetic and forefoot care. There are well established links with Rheumatology, Diabetology, Vascular surgery and Plastic surgery departments within Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
There is access to advanced pedorthotics and prosthetics. Nonsurgical and surgical care are provided to patients from all over the North-West. The fellow will have ample exposure to clinical problems in both clinics and operating rooms, and also participate on the trauma on call rota.
