Paediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist - Neurofibromatosis Type 1

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical nurse specialist to join one of the two nationally commissioned services for Complex NF1 based within Genomic medicine at St Mary's hospital, Manchester. Working within a small established team of NF1 clinical nurse specialists and alongside internationally recognised experts, you'll enjoy opportunities to develop both the role and your skills. You will make a real difference to the care our patients receive. With excellent and effective interpersonal and clinical leadership skills you will enjoy multi-disciplinary working and the challenge of working across boundaries with other NHS trusts across the North of England.

The service covers the lifespan however this role is to primarily manage the paediatric caseload therefore RN Child/ RSCN is essential.

Previous experience of neurology/neurosurgery, oncology, community or nurse specialist would be beneficial. Previous experience of neurofibromatosis is not essential as full training and support to develop the role will be given.

Main duties of the job

Working within the Multi-disciplinary Complex NF1 team the post holder will provide specialist knowledge and care to children and adults with Complex NF1 in the North of England, ensuring they have evidence based local management with access to the Specialist MDT in Manchester at appropriate times
