At Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), we are seeking an exceptional Director to lead our Trafford Elective Hub--a pioneering initiative that will shape the future of elective services across Greater Manchester.

About the RoleAs Director, you will form a key part of the hub's triumvirate leadership team alongside clinical and nursing leads. Reporting to the MFT's Chief Delivery Officer, you will provide strategic leadership and operational management of the hub. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the transformation of elective care pathways, drive cultural change, and deliver a service that is innovative, efficient, and truly patient-centred.

About YouYou will bring significant senior operational management experience within a complex healthcare environment and specifically within a surgical setting. Your collaborative leadership style and ability to drive transformation at scale will be crucial in delivering the vision for the Trafford Elective Hub.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement MFT's vision and strategy for the hub in collaboration with the Executive Directors and Clinical Group Chief Executives.
  • Ensure the delivery of a high-quality, safe, and effective service that continually improves performance, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Lead the transformational change required to establish the hub, including programme management, robust governance, and oversight of key workstreams.
  • Develop and manage effective plans, governance systems, financial and performance arrangements to achieve ambitious targets.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across MFT, ensuring alignment of strategies and optimising opportunities for service integration and innovation.
