We have an exciting opportunity for a Vascular Lab Manager to lead the strategic development and delivery of the MRI Vascular Physiological Scientific Service Department within the governance and framework of the GMEC Vascular Network.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Manchester Royal Infirmary (MRI) Vascular Laboratory Physiological Scientific Services.

The post holder will lead the strategic development and delivery of the MRI Vascular Physiological Scientific Service department within the governance and framework of the GMEC Vascular Network.

The post holder will lead and direct the development, implementation and maintenance of Vascular Scientific practices and clinical standards within the MRI Vascular Lab

The post holder will be responsible for management of the clinical caseload within the department ensuring access targets and national performance standards are achieved.

The post holder will undertake, supervise and teach, within the post holders specialist field highly complex Vascular Science procedures, working to the standards set by the College and Society for Clinical Vascular Science of Great Britain & Ireland (CSVS)

The post holder will be responsible for the MRI Vascular Laboratory department budget.

The post-holder will have demonstrable experience in service development, playing a pivotal role in developing the clinical, educational and research activities of the MRI Vascular Laboratory Physiological Scientific Service

  • Minimum 2nd class Biological science Honours degree or other relevant scientific qualification.
  • Post graduate qualification of Accreditation to the Society of Vascular Technology of GB and I (Masters level equivalent)

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Substantial experience of Clinical Vascular Science.
  • Experience in teaching /training in Clinical Vascular Science
