Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic audiologist to join us at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. Our department is unique in providing all hearing, balance and implant services for adults and childrenunder one management structure and within one hospital Trust. You will have a varied audiology position within our state-of-the-art purpose built centre with opportunities to develop future specialisms. In addition, the department has close educational and research links to Manchester University. Successful candidates should have a BSc in Audiology/ Healthcare science or equivalent.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a dynamic audiologist to join us at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. Our department is unique in providing all hearing, balance and implant services for adults and children under one management structure and within one hospital Trust. The main duties will be in the assessment and rehabilitation of adults with hearing loss. You will have a varied audiology position within our state-of-the-art purpose built centre with opportunities to develop future specialisms.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc or diploma in Audiology or Neurosensory Sciences (Audiology) with clinical competency or equivalent
  • BAAT I and II
  • Registration with RCCP or HCPC
  • Maintenance of continual professional development

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience of working in an Audiology setting or equivalent
  • Experience of dealing with the general public
  • Knowledge and understanding of professional policies and procedures

Desirable

  • Past experience in an NHS background
  • Evidence of team/group leadership
  • Experience with training and development of junior members of staff
  • Experience of working in a UKAS accredited service
  • Experience of providing hearing services to AQP standards
  • British Sign language stage 1
