Job summary

As an autonomous EMHP you will play a key part in the delivery of high-quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families, and carers. In a school-based team you will provide direct intervention for young people presenting with mild/moderate mental health difficulties within professional practice guidelines and a structured supervision framework.The post holder will be required to adapt to and undertake different or new duties in line with professional and service developments.

The MHST in Salford is well established having been part of the trail blazer sites across GM. As such there is a team of dynamic, innovative and creative practitioners who are fully comitted to furhter developing integrated practice with community partners. With a central locality base in Salford, the team have access to multiple resoures across the community and are keen to facilitate professional development, support training opportunities and nurture personal growth within a welcoming team ethos.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will practice within the MHST national framework, providing assessments and interventions for children, young people and parents/carers in education settings, supporting schools and education providers to develop whole settings approaches to emotional health and wellbeing and providing advice, consultation, support and training to servies to ensure appropriate interventions are identified to address young peoples mental health difficulties.

As a senior member of the team, the successful applicant will contirbute to the development of the team projects, supervise junior members of staff/trainees and act as a respresentative for the team at communityand partnership meetings.

Essential

  • You must be registered/accredited (or, if EMHP/CWP, in the process of becoming accredited) with a professional body. e.g. NMC, SW England, UKCP, HCPC, BABCP
  • You must have a recognised qualification. Recognised qualifications are: Registered Nursing: RMN/RSCN/RNMH Social Work (CQSW/DipSW) Occupational Therapy Other relevant accreditable qualification

Desirable

  • Qualifications in Psychological Therapies e.g. CBT / SFT/ IPT
  • Mentorship course ENB998 or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience of working effectively with people with mental health difficulties
