Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arose for a Band 4 PA/Administrator to join the administration team within the Head and Neck Clinical Service Unit.

The post holder will provide secretarial support to the Head and Neck Service and Consultants within the CSU. This will require an understanding of all associated administrative tasks. The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination of theatre lists across MFT hospital sites, waiting list management, attending theatre planning MDT / scheduling meetings, and will furthermore provide general administrative support to the admin team as delegated by the Administration Manager.

Main duties of the job

Take messages and telephone calls from patients and staff and deal with their inquiries, referring on where necessary .

Prioritise and allocate work resulting from opening and actioning of mail Manage Consultant's electronic diary, providing accurate planning of meetings, Consultant's activity, study leave etc

Close liaison with Consultant, General Practitioner and other Health Professionals.

To work in a manner consistent with Trust and local policies

Liaison with internal departments and external organizations.

Responsibility for completing work in a timely manner ensuring a high level of precision consistent with departmental practice and protocol.

Manage and audio type clinical, administrative, discharge and operation tapes in line with Trust targets.

Prioritise tasks and manage blocks of work.

Responsibility for own tasks.
