Senior Nursing Assistant - Allergy

Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic health care assistant to join our Allergy Nursing team. With appropriate support and training you will be required to work alongside the specialist nurses in the unitassisting with food/drug challenges, drug investigations, immunotherapyas well as supporting multidisciplinary and nurse-led clinics. You will be actively involved in the smooth delivery of care and support of the specialist team.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a phlebotomy and cannulation service
  • Undertake FeNO andspirometry competencies
  • To clerk patients in for day case appointments, including recording vital signs
  • Inputting patient information onto electronic database
  • Prepare equipment/ rooms prior to commencement of clinic sessions/ day case activity by ensuring the relevant equipment/supplies are available
  • To maintain stock levels and ensure stock rotation
  • To ensure clean and tidy work place environment

  • GCSE's or level 2 key skills in English and Maths
  • Good understanding of confidentiality and the National Health Service

  • Holds the NVQ or Apprenticeship Level 2 in Care qualification or equivalent.
