Job summary
The post holder will support the Cardiac Division including Cardiology, Cardiac surgery and transplant but with a focus on Cardiac Surgery at Wythenshawe Hospital in the planning, co-ordination and evaluation of education and training . They will work closely with the general ward education teams and ward managers, ensuring education is standardised across all areas. The role will involve supporting nurses in the phase 2 of ERAS C bay gain enhanced recovery after surgery skills, such as inotropes, arterial and central line care, nasal high flow and noradrenaline use.
Part time hours 16 per week.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Structure, design and promote practice-based education
- Work with the Corporate Practice Based Educators (PBEs) and divisional in the developmentof nursing and midwifery practice by promoting, maintaining and co-ordinating educationacross WTWA Cardiac Division
- Support policy and service development through effective evaluation and development ofeducation in practice.
- Draw upon a wide range of clinical and technical skills to advise, supervise, demonstrate,and teach clinical staff.
- Take a role in ensuring the Cardiac PBE delivers training and education to meet therequirements set in the WTWA Nursing and AHP Workforce and Education Strategy.
- Provide a clear focus for nurse training and education across Cardiac Division.
- Offer support and leadership to ward/department managers and Divisional Practice BasedEducators in all aspects of, education, CPD, capability and performance.
- Support on the development of new initiatives relating to clinical nursing practice in relationto WTWA priorities and the Nursing Strategy, adopting new and innovative ways of deliveringeducation across WTWA Cardiac Division.
- Support the management of multi-professional, patient centred education, working alongsideother professional groups as appropriate
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of learning requirements across nursing, liaising,and working alongside clinical teams.
- Work with AHP colleagues in supporting their education needs as appropriate.
