Job summary

This is a fantastic opportunity to start the new year working within the largest auditory implant service in the UK. We are an integrated service that incorporates cochlear implants, auditory brainstem implants and bone conduction implants for adults and children. You will work within the adult auditory implant service to provide a holistic pre and post implant service to patients with cochlear implants and bone conduction devices. You will have experience of implant work with adults using either cochlear implants and/or bone conduction devices. Additional training and support will be given where required. The department is unique in providing all hearing and balance services for adults and children under one management structure and within one hospital Trust. We are located in a purpose built facility with state of the art equipment and the department has close educational and research links to the University of Manchester. Successful candidates should have a recognised higher level of training and experience in Audiology. We have UKAS accreditation for adult and paediatric services.

Main duties of the job

Assess adults for cochlear implant or bone conduction hearing devices. You will contribute to clinical decision making and attend appropriate multidisciplinary meetings. You will provide initial activation 'switch-on' of devices and long term maintenance, support and evaluation of patients using either cochlear implants or bone conduction implants.
