Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Housekeeper to join our team on Ward C4 at North Manchester General Hospital.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting and key role in which you will work closely with the nursing and domestic staff to ensure a safe, clean and organised clinical department. You will take responsibility for ensuring that all medical equipment is clean and well maintained and liaise with the domestic supervisors and staff to ensure cleaning is of a high standard.

You will play an essential role at meal times, serving breakfast and lunches, in addition to ordering food for patients. You will take responsibility for ensuring the ward has adequate equipment and stock. You will undertake reporting any estates work and request for portering services.

In addition, you will be responsible for assisting the team in continuous quality improvement work by undertaking audits on the ward. The role also entails keeping ward information boards up to date.
