Job summary
We are looking to appoint a dedicated individual to join our established team of daytime crisis workers at our Manchester Sexual Assault Referral Centre
This is a part-time contract as a crisis worker offering support to anyone attending for a forensic medical examination, with a particular focus on children and young people .
You will have some previous experience of working with people in a supportive role and an understanding of the impact of trauma.
You will have some understanding of safeguarding and possess a calming influence in stressful crisis situations. You must be highly organised, self motivated and able to work effectively on your own initiative as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
- Provide Crisis Support to clients during a forensic examination including children and young people
- Ensure forensic integrity and cleaning of the suite following an examination
- Facilitate non-acute clinics with children and young people, alongside the forensic physician, including pre-clinic calls to provide information and directions.
The post holder will provide Crisis Worker cover within Manchester Sexual Assault Referral Centre, as part of a team. They will provide the initial support to individuals who have recently been victims of rape and sexual assault, as well as historic abuse, within the context of a non-judgemental and confidential service. The post holder will provide crisis management for patients that attend the Centre for a forensic medical examination within office hours.

The post holder will provide telephone support and information and crisis management to clients attending for a forensic medical examination and assist the forensic physician within the medical room.
The post holder will help manage the chid historic clinic by ensuring relevant documentation is recorded and pre-clinic calls to clients and/or relevant care givers are completed prior to their appointment.
