Job summary

As a HCPC registered Physiotherapist (or soon to qualify) you will be responsible for the management of patients across the varied specialities based at Trafford General Hospital while being supported by robust supervision and training. You will work closely with other Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and the rest of the multi-professional team based in the hospital, across MFT sites and those based in community services.

We offer 4-month rotations in the therapy teams at Trafford General Hospital including

  • Musculo-skeletal Outpatients

  • Elective Orthopaedics

  • Intermediate Neuro-Rehabilitation Unit

  • Frailty Unit

  • Stroke Unit

  • Fragility Fracture Rehab Unit

  • Acute Medicine and Surgery - based at Manchester Royal Infirmary

Alongside the specialist supervision and training you will receive on each rotation there is a Trafford peer support group and opportunities to participate in audit, service development and AHP Division and MFT wide projects such as career ambassadors and supporting the AHP Division Quality and Safety Governance workstreams.

You will be required to work as part of the seven-day, twilight and on-call services provided on the Trafford General Hospital site.

Main duties of the job

We're looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and forward-thinking Physiotherapists who want to develop their skills in a supportive environment. You will need to be flexible and committed to delivering high quality, patient focused care.

You'll need a pre-registration degree or MSc in Physiotherapy and some NHS or client facing experience would be beneficial.

Clinical skills include:

  • To be able to competently assess patients and identify problems and agree objectives of treatment with the patient
  • To clinically reason, plan and carry out appropriate treatment programmes and techniques using evidence based practice, and identify safe and timely discharge plans.

    To plan and prioritise own workload according to clinical need, and discuss relevant issues as required with a senior member of staff.

    To participate in the on call and weekend working as appropriate

    To understand the roles and work with the wider MDT.

    To maintain confidentiality, dignity and professionalism at all times.

    Have excellent communication skills with patients, families and the MDT

    Maintain a high standard of documentation

    To work well as part of a therapy team and the wider MDT
