This job is now closed

Job summary

We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Band 5 rotational paediatric physiotherapist at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. This is a tertiary hospital and provides a regional and supra regional service to include most clinical paediatric specialities.

Rotations occur across the range of specialities including neurorehabilitation, respiratory, orthopaedics, MSK/rheumatology and oncology, some of which include hydrotherapy.

The successful candidate will have broad clinical undergraduate experience in the NHS, to include placements in rehabilitation and acute respiratory. A degree in Physiotherapy, HCPC registration and previous experience of working within a health or social care setting are essential.

Main duties of the job

This is a training post and would suit physiotherapists who demonstrate a strong desire to develop their foundation physiotherapy skills in acute paediatric physiotherapy. Royal Manchester Children Hospital is a specialist centre and as such the work is both varied and challenging. You should therefore be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and experience of dealing with sensitive situations, including those involving the MDT.

You will be required to support the respiratory on call and weekend/Bank Holiday service and an ability to develop competencies in paediatric critical care within 3 months of training is essential.

There is support through an appraisal system and training programmes and the department is involved in many audits and research projects which there would be opportunities to gain experience in.
