Job summary
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the post of Helipad Officer at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust based at the Oxford Road Campus.
The successful applicants will be suitably qualified and hold relevant experience.
Main duties of the job
Supporting the Helipad Manager you will be part of the Helipad Response Team (HRT) your main role will be to ensure the Helipad remains operational responding to all helicopter movements.
You will be self-motivated, able to work unsupervised and capable of co-ordinating and leading other members of the HRT.
Main responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Preparing the Helipad for operational use each day and closing down at the end of shift.
Ensure all equipment is appropriately tested and available for use.
Lead the response to any incidents during helicopter movements.
Full training will be provided prior to taking up theposition.
This is a full time post averaging 37.5 hours per week on an annualised rotational 12 hour rota, 365 days of the year.
Annual leave will be pre allocated to suit operational requirements of the helipad.

Desirable
- Health & Safety qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH General Certificate, etc.)
- First responder, local Authority / Aviation Fire Service equivalent
- Respirator trained

- Knowledge of fire extinguishers and their uses.
- To have an understanding of Civil Aviation Publication CAP1264 firefighting requirements for elevated hospital helipads, within the UK.
