Job summary

The Community Neuro-rehabilitation Team are recruiting a rehabilitation support worker. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside and deliver ongoing treatment plans for occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, nurses and dietitians.

The rehabilitation programmes are very varied and include physical exercises, equipment provision, practice of activities of daily living, weighing patients, upper limb treatments, speech practice, relaxation skills, emotional support, practice with concentration/memory and accessing the community. These are delivered in individual and group programmes.You will receive on the job training.

You will be required to work across a variety of bases, clinics and patient's homes as a lone worker for much of the time

Main duties of the job

To provide rehabilitation treatment plans, to patients referred into the community neuro-rehabilitation services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech language therapy.

To work with a diverse group for patients with complex neurological conditions

To take an active part in the delivery and evaluation of treatment plans developed to meet patients needs under the indirect supervision of a therapist

To work as part of a team within the service and to maintain clinical skills and competencies by working

To work without direct supervision undertaking tasks delegated by a qualified health care professional
