Job summary
We are looking for forward thinking , dynamic team players who are either already HCPC registered or who will be graduating this summer. You should have the ability to work within an MDT and manage an independent caseload of sometimes complex patients. To be able to assess, diagnose, plan and deliver treatment programs to patients in your care.
As part of a large teaching hospital, our lively multi-disciplinary department is committed to providing excellent patient focused care. Within each rotation you will supported closely by a multi-disciplinary team allowing you to develop clinical knowledge and skills. We are committed to CPD and provide tailored IST programmes, an active peer support group and regular appraisals. The post will include on calls once competent and weekend working
Our 4 monthly rotations across the following wide range of clinical areas include:
- Trauma Orthopaedics
- Major Trauma
- Acute Respiratory
- Medicine for Older People
- Musculoskeletal/ Rheumatology Outpatients
- Pelvic Health
- Specialist Medicine and Haematology
- Cardiac Surgery
- Critical Care and Surgery
- Stroke Rehabilitation
- Vascular
We also have rotations based at Trafford General Hospital which are Intermediate Neuro Rehabilitation and Elective Orthopaedics, and one based in the Community supporting hospital discharge.
Main duties of the job
To be able to competently assess patients and identify problems and agree objectives of treatment with the patient
To clinically reason, plan and carry out appropriate treatment programmes and techniques using evidence based practice, and identify safe and timely discharge plans.
To plan and prioritise own workload according to clinical need, and discuss relevant issues as required with a senior member of staff.
To participate in the on call and weekend working as appropriate
To understand the roles and work with the wider MDT.
To maintain confidentiality, dignity and professionalism at all times.
Have excellent communication skills with patients, families and the MDT
Maintain a high standard of documentation
To work well as part of a therapy team and the wider MDT
