Clinical Fellow leading in the Management of Mental Health Conditions related to Parkinson's disease
Main duties of the job
The advertised post is to support the Parkinson's team that sits within the department of Complex Care, in the delivery of holistic care for people with Parkinson's disease and associated Mental Health Conditions in Manchester. The post will be primarily based at Buccleuch Lodge Day Hospital, with further input at Ward F12 (the complexcarewardwithspecialistexpertiseinParkinson's), however the successful applicant will also be responsible for visiting patients within multiple settings including their own homes, other inpatient wards, care homes and associated tertiary clinics.
This is a new and exciting role for Elderly medicine and the successful applicant will be given the opportunity to undertake a lead in developing awareness of Mental Health Conditions in Parkinson's disease patients within the wider Mental health field. The successful candidate will have experience in the detection and treatment of patients with Parkinson's-related mental health conditions.
The clinical level is expected to be at ST6 or above, and the candidate will be required to have substantial experience in the field of geriatric and/or Psychiatric medicine to support with the delivery of care as described above.
The candidate must have a desire to work in the field of relevant clinical specialties. They should have experience, competencies and background of this area and be prepared to work independently with the support of consultants.
