Job summary
MFT CAMHS for Looked After Children services is a long-established network of multi-agency and multidisciplinary services, constituting three separate locality specialist CAMHS for Looked After Children within Greater Manchester in partnership with the local authority. There is extensive liaison, consultation and work with foster carers and professionals from Children's Services and all associated networks. These are experienced trauma informed teams and consequently there are plenty of opportunities for CPD and learning as well as joint working opportunities. The post holder will work 0.5 WTE in one of these specialist CAMHS LAC teams offering assessment and intervention, specialist consultation and staff training as part of this team.
Within the other 0.5WTE of the post, the post holder will sit within the corresponding locality core CAMHS, within a Duty and Assessment team supporting other Greater Manchester (GM) looked after children who are seen within the team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will offer assessment and intervention, specialist consultation and staff training. They will provide a range of high-quality interventions appropriate to the child or young person's needs which will include; mental state assessment, risk assessment and management, family and social assessment, consultation, evidence based interventions. The post holder will have a range of skills and knowledge base to deliver clinical aspects of the role in a multi-disciplinary team setting and will be competent to do this work as an autonomous practitioner within professional practice guidelines.
