Job summary
Do you want a new challenge? Do you want to develop your clinical and leadership potential and progress your career?
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to apply for an exciting role as a Highly Specialist Pharmacist for Medicine (WTWA) and we are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated pharmacist to join the team.
The successful candidate will support medicines optimisation, develop service developments, drive the delivery of risk management, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives within the division and demonstrate good leadership skills.
This varied and challenging role presents a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to patient care, demonstrate your ability to innovate and implement change following the introduction of HIVE and changes to clinical services, and to lead, support and progress the pharmacy services across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Based primarily at Trafford General Hospital (TGH), you will work across the division of Medicine (WTWA) supporting both the development of the service and the junior pharmacists who provide day to day clinical services to the site.
You will develop & deliver pharmaceutical services to patients with a wide range of often complex medical problems including OP settings. You will participate in ward rounds, provide expert medicines advice, review medication incidents & develop clinical guidelines. You will have the ability to influence the MDT & engage with stakeholders to ensure key governance priorities are met.
There is a strong commitment to education in the Trust and you will perform a pivotal role in provision of training & development to pharmacy & the wider MDT. In return, we will support you with postgraduate qualifications such as non-medical prescribing and CPPE Leading for Change.
You must have excellent communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team whilst also managing your own workload. This role has some site lead responsibilities & you will work collaboratively with pharmacy colleagues across WTWA to review and optimise how TGH pharmacy services are delivered.
This is an exciting time for TGH & this role would be perfect for a keen, motivated pharmacist with hospital experience, who wants to balance remaining integral to a clinical service with having the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and/or implement change.
