Job summary
Enthusiastic and experienced candidates are invited to apply for Senior Clinical Fellow/Senior Locally Employed Doctor (LED) roles within the Department of Cardiac Surgery at MFT.
The department undertakes all aspects of adult Cardiac Surgery. Although there is no thoracic component, the appointee is expected to deal with traumas of the chest whether isolated or as part of a Major Trauma. The Senior Fellow posts contribute to a 1:8 on call Rota.
The operating will take place in Wythenshawe Hospital as the Single Hospital Service in the Greater Manchester for all aspects of adult cardiac surgery. Applicants for the Senior Clinical Fellow roles must have a minimum of 2 years' full time (or equivalent part time) hospital service in the ST3 grade or higher, MRCS and 1 or more years' experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
These roles offer a wide variety of experiences, from the operating theatre and outpatient clinics to the management of patients in Level 2 and Level 3 intensive care settings. Support is on hand from consultants, advanced nurse practitioner, surgical care practitioners and other registrars.
Although this is not a Deanery Training post, the successful candidates would have a named consultant supervisor and would be encouraged to further their academic, training and career aspirations.
