Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a department and learn about many aspects of elective care. This role provides an opportunity to be the supporting figure and develop new team members. There is also the opportunity to work with many specialties to gain confidence and understanding of Elective Care.
This role will support the Elective Access management team in the operational delivery and performance management of the services and specialties within Elective Access on national and local performance targets and objectives. Opportunity to develop and improve its booking and administrative processes.
Elective Access provide services to North Manchester General Hospital, Managed Clinical Services and Single Hospital Services as part of the Manchester Foundation Trust. Elective Access are responsible for Booking and Scheduling, including inpatient and outpatient elective activity, clinical administration and Reception provision for receptions based at North Manchester General and the Victoria Breast Unit at Oldham Hospital.
Main duties of the job
To support the day to day operational service requirements across selected services and assist the Elective Access Senior support manager and Elective Access Service Manager in ensuring the NMGH Elective Access Department meets its key performance indicators in relation to access standards and activity targets. Responsible for the delivery of internal and external KPI's and Targets at a local, regional and national level. Provide line management for a number of administrative staff.

To support the supervisors to complete internal service delivery staffing rotas and ensuring rotas are completed and disseminated appropriately and any changes are escalated where necessary.
Ensuring team members under their direct line management adhere to Attendance and Special Leave Policy, monitoring sickness & absence of staff and to conduct return to work conversations in line with Trust Policy and all other HR policies.
Undertake HR investigations as necessary.
Monitor staff compliance with mandatory training and take necessary action for those not compliant.
Support the day-to-day running of the department. Liaising with Directorate teams and other key stakeholders as necessary.
Ensure that internal Outpatient and Theatre booking KPIs are met and provide insight and support to staff to improve position where necessary.
Attend PTL meetings and performance meetings with the directorate and clinical teams when required to.
Support the Clinical Administration Supervisors in ensuring transcription KPIs are adhered to.
Assist in the investigation of patient complaints/incidents/PALS.
Carry out any other tasks as required, commensurate with the grade of the post.
Deputise for the Senior Support Manager as and when required.
