Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an enthusiastic Consultant with a subspecialty training interest in Paediatric Neuroradiology to join this large, developing and aspirational trust. The post is based within Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will work within an innovative and flexible department keen to look at new ways to deliver Radiology services. They must be experienced in Neuro Imaging with subspecialty training in Paediatric Neuroradiology; they are encouraged to develop an interest in service development across the new Trust working alongside the other Radiologists already in post to compliment the current services to provide comprehensive and innovative care.

The job will be based at RMCH with the possibilities of working work at other Trust sites, such as Wythenshawe and North Manchester on discussion.

The appointee will be contracted for 10 Programmed Activities as per the new Consultant Contract, 8.0 related to Direct Clinical Care and 2.0 for Supporting Professional Activities.

Part-time or job share working is possible.

Main duties of the job

Duties include reporting neuro-radiology examinations, including acute, escalated and reporting work list examinations. Clinical responsibilities will include vetting and prioritising requests and preparing and presenting cases at the various clinical meetings, including Neuro-oncology, Proton Beam Therapy MDT, neurology meeting, as well as other more specialist neuro-radiology meetings depending on sub-specialty interests.

Supervision of trainees is an integral part of the role with a large number of trainees coming through the department.
