Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Urgent Care Directorate of Manchester Royal Infirmary offering experience of working at the Surgical Assessment Unit . SAU is currently a 20 bedded assessment unit with high turn of surgical patients.

We currently have a vacancy for a hard-working and enthusiastic individual who is interested in delivering quality care to a group of patients. We are looking to recruit an experienced band 6 nurse.

We are opening a new 6 bedded base and need an additional 5 senior nurses

Main duties of the job

Suitable applicants will have excellent communications skills and be able to provide kindness and compassion to patients in their care. You wouldbe a valued member of the multidisciplinary team and be expected to deliver high standards of person centered care showing empathy, patienceand understanding at all times. Hard working, enthusiastic and conscientious, you will have well-developed motivational skills and evidence of involvement in change management and improvement. You have a mature and thorough approach to your work, coupled with a desire to take the service forward through quality initiatives, extending and developing nursing roles and an enthusiasm for learning new skills and competencies.You will prioritise, admit, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of care from the beginning of patient's journey to the expectedhigh standard. You will coordinate day to day shift and be responsible for the patient flow and coordinate care on the unit. You will work as a keymember of the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the processes that promote patient safety and quality of care in line with clinicalgovernance frameworks. You will support the junior and the newly qualified. You will be supported in your role clinically by an experienced Ward

  • Evidence of CPD in relevant specialty
  • Evidence of Level 3 studies
  • Relevant teaching qualification
  • Qualified to function as mentor for pre registration students
