An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cancer Research Team at the Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital, MFT.
The post holder will work alongside both clinical and administrative staff to support research at RMCH.
The role will involve coordinating studies within Research & Innovation (R&I). To ensure that comprehensive, high quality and efficient administrative processes are in place for setting up studies, organising necessary approvals (ethics, HRA, local R&D, MHRA, research networks etc.), data management, ensuring full compliance with the UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care Research; including financial management of study set-up costs, and income recovery in conjunction with the R&I finance team.
Working within the Paediatric Oncology team, the role will help manage staff and work within the large Portfolio within R&I at MFT.
Main duties of the job
The main duties will involve research study management and coordination, line management, study set-up, assisting the Clinical Trials Manager with the delivery and targets of the Paediatric Oncology portfolio and ensure financial arrangements, study payments, contract payment schedules are adhered to.
The role will work with the Clinical Trials Manager and Research Nurse Manager to implement new studies within the Oncology team and ensure all amendments, study timelines and approvals are coordinated within MFT. The role will communicate with study sponsors, Principle Investigators, clinical teams, R&I research office and the sponsorship team at MFT.
You will support our dynamic research team and get involved in many aspects of our research studies. You will actively contribute to the performance and delivery of the team by ensuring you provide administrative support in a proactive, timely and efficient manner.
