Job summary
As the Specialty Workstream Lead, you'll lead the teams responsible for a key, complex workstream of the Hive EPR team, including cardiology, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, radiology and laboratory medicine (including Genomic medicine). You'll be a key enabler in supporting work across specialty transformation and supporting MFT's key priorities.
This is a wide-ranging, key strategic role that draws on project management skills, collaboration, stakeholder management and clinical knowledge. As you coordinate your own workstream, you'll collaborate with other workstream leads to make sure we're implementing our software consistently and effectively.
You'll also be an ambassador for the Hive project and a key driver of our digital strategy. It's a chance to take on considerable responsibility in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and contribute towards guidance and standards across the Hive team.

Be the link between leading-edge medical software and an outstanding NHS Trust.

Required skills and experience
We're looking for candidates with clinical or operational experience in the NHS. You'll be a talented communicator and an exceptional project manager who can confidently oversee complex initiatives.
You should also have experience in analysing business and technical requirements or even training in Epic software. Strong leadership skills, IT literacy and a keen sense of strategy are also essential.
You'll also need a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject. A relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred, but not essential.

The Specialty Workstream Lead will report to the Head of Programmes - Hive (Admin, Outpatients and Specialty) and is responsible for the delivery of Hive design, configuration, testing and maintenance. They are responsible for the planning for their workstream modules to support the successful implementation of the MFT Digital Strategy. The post holder will be responsible for the scope of their assigned workstream work plan, including upgrades and integrated areas.
You will be responsible for the delivery of system configuration, build and testing and will need to manage these to tight deadlines and delivery. You will also be responsible for the day to day running of your Workstream systems including the service management, change requests and all other system maintenance.
The Workstream lead will be leading and co-ordinating the work of their allocated workstreams. They will work with the other members of the Hive EPR and clinical and operational management teams to ensure a consistent approach to the implementation of the trust's digital and transformation strategy, they will be required to work across the governance processes within Hive and Informatics to deliver digital services for the Hospitals, MCS and LCO.
This will involve providing guidance, ensuring compliance around information standards and quality across the workstreams and to the wider organisation. They will work in a complex and multi-disciplinary environment and need to be able to act with minimum guidelines whilst setting standards for others. They will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to changing priorities.
The Workstream lead will use expert clinical, administrative knowledge to support and guide the team in making appropriate decisions when working with stakeholders to configure best practice workflows and designing clinical capture tools, that configuration and workflows align with reporting and clinical audit requirements. This will involve working closely with the Transformation and Operational teams and SMEs.
The Workstream lead will represent the Hive & Systems team providing assurance and guidance around status of the programme. They will act as an ambassador for the team at all times.
